FAQs

  • I’ll always give you a quote for the job. And this is what’ll be on your invoice unless the job changes dramatically. I base my quotes on an hourly charge of £50. Because I’m experienced, I work pretty quickly. I may not be the cheapest – but I aim to offer great value.

  • This depends on what the job requires and what other work I’ve got on. I don’t outsource work – I do it all myself and sometimes, I have a bit of a waiting list. But if you’re in a rush, please let me know – I’ll always see what I can do.

  • I’d like really detailed information from you on exactly what you want. This helps make sure I get the copy as perfect as possible the first time. But don’t worry. I can help you decide what to tell me if you’re not quite sure. I’m an experienced copywriter, so I know the right questions to ask you to make sure I get a really good brief.

  • Copywriting is different from ordinary writing that’s well-structured with good grammar and perfect spelling. As well as all that, copywriting contains carefully crafted words about your business to make your ideal prospects feel and think positively about you and what you do.

  • This is a hard one. My general writing style is informal, with a light touch, and a dash of humour if that’s appropriate. I believe that marketing and information materials should be written in plain English, in a conversational style. That way, everyone can understand it. And even CEOs and academics appreciate something that’s easy to read. So if this is what you’re after, I reckon I’ll be good fit. But it’s always worth chatting first. So please give me a call.

  • When I’m writing web content, I always weave in the top keywords for your niche or sector. I’m not an SEO specialist. But things have changed. Search engines aren’t easily fooled these days. Too much repetition makes you look ‘spammy’ – the exact opposite of the honest and trustworthy image you’re after. These days, when it comes to search engine ranking, there’s no substitute for top-notch content that answers the questions your ideal customers are asking. So that’s my main aim.

  • Well not quite. But I’ve got experience writing about lots of things in all sorts of formats. I’ve also written for different audiences – from young children to university professors. If you’re after complex technical text for a specialised audience, I might not be the best fit. But it’s always worth a chat!

  • My estimates always include time for one round of amendments. This is because things aren’t always perfect the first time around. And I want to make sure you’re 100% happy with what I write. But if you change your mind about things as the job progresses, then we may need to chat!

  • I’m not a designer or photographer. But I know some great web designers and photographers that I can recommend to you. And I’m sure they’ll do a great job. I know them personally – and I don’t work with just anybody.

  • I don’t handle printing myself, but I can put you in touch with a great printer I know who’s got an awesome reputation.
